Last week my friend Megan and I took our kids to visit the local fire station. While they weren't enraptured by the sewing room, sitting in the truck was a hit. (That is, once we had coaxed all the kids in!) After the tour Nathan announced that he wanted to be a fireman. He asked Aubrey if she wanted to be a fireman too and she said, "No, I want to be a mommy." I gave her extra dessert that night.

In unrelated news, Greg spent the evening playing pirates and monkeys with the kids. This involves evil bands of pirates and monkeys attacking them while Nathan flings spiderweb at them and Greg, Aubrey, and Dane beat them with nerf balls and dart guns. Inexplicably, Nathan will occasionally turn one of the moneys into a "tiny little beebee monkey" that we are given and instructed to keep in our pocket. I have two sleeping peacefully in my pockets as we speak. (Except we aren't.)
Good night.
